Aussie charger Beau O’Brian signs with Team Starboard

Australia’s Beau O’Brian has just signed with Team Starboard.

O’Brian is a well known paddler at home on Australia’s Gold Coast, but he’s possibly one of the most underrated paddlers internationally.

The Aussie charger has been paddling super strong the past twelve months and will be one of the dark horse picks for the Waikiki Paddle Festival in May.

In signing with Starboard, O’Brian joins one of the strongest SUP race teams on the planet. Led by the likes of Connor Baxter and Bart de Zwart, Starboard have been beefing up their SUP race team lately.

In addition to O’Brian, they’ve recently added elite paddlers such as France’s Gaetan Sene and Aussie young gun Lincoln Dews (pictured here with O’Brian).

We’ll first get to see Beau O’Brian in action on his new Starboard at the Waikiki Paddle Festival in five weeks time.

Beau O’Brian’s major stand up paddle race results:

9th @ 2011 Battle of the Paddle California Elite Race
3rd @ 2011 Battle of the Paddle California Long Distance Race (12’6″ class)
4th @ 12 Towers Ocean Race, 2012
6th @ The Doctor, 2012
2nd @ Noosa Festival of Surfing SUP Race, 2012
2nd @ Ocean Addicts BoP Race, 2011
