Aussie Young Guns Heading To Paddle For Humanity Season Opener In Florida

Watermans-Paddle-For-Humanity-SUP-Race-seriesAussie young guns Lincoln Dews and Jayden Jensen are heading to Florida for the Waterman’s Paddle For Humanity race in Deerfield Beach. The race, which is happening June 1st, will be the opening event in this year’s six-race PFH series.

Kelly Margetts (who finished 4th in the BoP Elite Race last September) set the precedent for Aussies at this event when he won the 2012 Paddle For Humanity Florida ahead of most of the East Coast’s finest. However Kelly has taken an indefinite break from serious racing and is handing over the reigns to the younger crew. He’s also running the new Lahui Kai SUP race team, of which Lincoln and Jayden are both a part of.

Lincoln DewsLincoln Dews is a name already familiar to most SUP racing fanatics, despite the kid only jumping on a race board just over two years ago. After an impressive Top 10 finish at the Battle of the Paddle last year, Lincoln went on to record a series of impressive results in early 2013, battling it out with the likes of Beau O’Brian and Travis Grant at the big Summer races in Australia (eg. The Doctor and 12 Towers).

Jayden Jensen isn’t so familiar, having only taken up the sport in the past twelve months. However the Gold Coaster is hardly a stranger to racing in the ocean, having won countless surf life saving medals at State and National level in Australia. Jayden is also the older brother of elite international paddler Jake Jensen, so he’ll have plenty of motivation to quickly move up through the ranks…

You can catch Jayden and Lincoln, along with many of the East Coast’s fastest Stand Up Paddlers at Deerfield Beach on June 1st. And of course you’ll be able to see the full race results and pics of the action here on SUPracer.com straight after the event.
