Prize Money & Points: New Stand Up World Series Info

The Stand Up World Series is a new global stand up paddle racing tour from the Waterman League (creators of the SUP surfing Stand Up World Tour).
The inaugural season kicked off last November at the Namotu World Paddle Challenge in Fiji, and continues next month in the Philippines with the CamSur World Paddle Challenge.
16x SUP races are planned during 2012, leading up to the World Championship Finals on Oahu in October.

Stand Up World Series – World Championship Rankings:
The Stand Up World Series is made up of 16 “World Qualifying Races”, which lead up to the “World Championship Finals” on Oahu in October.

The top 200 men and top 50 women from the 16x qualifiers will be invited to compete in Hawaii. A paddler’s top 3 events from throughout the year determine their qualification ranking.
The World Champion will be decided based on a combination of results during the year as well as at the Finals in October.
50% of the end of year ranking will be based on a paddler’s best three events throughout the year, with the other 50% being based on results at the World Championship Finals.
