In brief: Titouan Puyo, Arthur Arutkin and Olivia Piana have qualified for Team France and will represent their nation at both the ISA Worlds in Fiji later in the year, and also at the “Euros” in France later this month.

After an exhaustive selection process, Titou and Arthur triumphed over a deep and very talented field of France’s finest. Considering they are the two highest ranked athletes to fly the flag for Les Bleus, this is a great result for Team France and will bolster their chances in both Lacanau (where they’ll start favourites at the Euros) and Fiji (where they should once again be in the medals at the Worlds).

Titou, Arthur and Olivia will represent France in both the short course and long distance events. This is Arthur’s first time in the team colours, while it’s Titou’s third call-up in a row, with the world number three having won a gold medal in 2014 and a bronze last year. Olivia is no stranger to the ISA World Championships either, having debuted in 2012 before taking home a pair of silvers at the 2013 event in Peru.

Olivia had to fight hard to regain her place in the squad though, returning from a season on the sidelines to oust the incumbent Celine Guesdon and book her ticket to the South Pacific.

As for the surfing, the Frenchies will be served well by Antoine Delpero, Benoit Carpentier and Caroline Angibaud.

More to to follow…

Though in the meantime, here’s a dreadfully-translated version of the official announcement (Google’s worth half a trillion dollars and it still can’t speak French…).

At the end of the second session of selections this week in Lacanau, Titouan Puyo, Arthur and Olivia Piana Arutkin were selected in the France team for the EUROSUP (18-24 June, Lacanau) and World Championships (ISA 12-20 November Fiji).

The director of the French Federation of Surf committee validated today the selection proposed by the National Technical Direction of the three athletes SUP race, who will represent France at the European Championships and World Championships in 2016.

Titouan Puyo, Arthur and Olivia Piana Arutkin have therefore spent the second successful “cut” selections this week in Lacanau. Recall that the results achieved at the championships in France in 2015 were taken into account and were worth as freelance 1 and the medals for the 2015 World brought bonus points.

World champion in 2014 and world No.3 last year, Titouan Puyo honor a third consecutive national team during the EUROSUP in Lacanau.

Best French in the last 18 months, the Caledonian confirms its status. Olivia Piana, she is back in the France team after be spent in 2012 and 2013.

Double silver medalist of the 2013 world, the Var was not reappeared in Blue since. Finally, Arthur Arutkin, double champion of France 2014 and dolphin Puyo last year, for the first time endorsed the tricolor lycra. Current n.5 World Series, the Northerner will experience a first selection in Lacanau.
Recall that Caroline Angibaud, Antoine Delpero and Ben Carpentier are also selected for EUROSUP and ISA World SUP Surf in the category.

The French Surfing Federation congratulate all the athletes who participated in the selections in May (surfing) and June (race): Jeremy Massière Pierre Rollet, Eric Terrien, Martin Letourneur, Gabriel Bachelet, Grégory Closier Céline Guesdon and Melanie lafenetre. Which, remember, are members of the Collective France SUP and may compensate if a selected package. The France team will take its districts in Lacanau next Thursday for EUROSUP (18-24 June).
