SUP Racing For A Good Cause In Oz: Paddle To Battle MS Hits Sydney This Weekend

Paddle to Batle MS - Stand Up Paddle raceIf you’re up for a bit of SUP racing, wanna support a good cause and can get yourself to Sydney this weekend, this one’s for you. The Paddle to Battle MS is happening on Saturday and will feature a Battle of the Paddle-style race on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The event is also a charity fundraiser, with all proceeds going to Multiple Sclerosis research in Australia.

A whole bunch of Australia’s top paddlers will be on show at the Battle, including Jake Jensen, Beau O’Brian, Paul Jackson and Troy Pease from the Gold Coast. They’ll be joined by local Sydney guns such as Sam Parker and Dave Kissane, as well as Noosa runner-up Andy Davies, so expect a very solid hit out at Collaroy Beach.

The Paddle to Battle MS is being run in support of Foundation 5 Million Plus (F5m+), which is the volunteer fundraising arm of the Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia organisation.

The event will feature an Elite BoP-style course as well as Naish Inflatable NiSCO races. It’ll be great to see the next round of the QLD vs NSW rivalry, though with the form young Jake Jensen is showing at the moment I think it’ll be tough for the Sydneysiders to claim this one. Either way there’s a $2,500 prize purse on offer in the Elite Race, so expect the top guys and girls to be paddling hard.

We’ll keep you posted with full results from the 2013 Paddle to Battle MS over the weekend, but in the meantime here’s how you can get involved in the event…
