Your Time Is Through Old Man (aka The Junior SUP Fiesta Is Only Two Days Away…)

Junior SUP Fiesta

Austrlia’s Kristi Page. At 17 years, she’s one of the oldest competitors…

Performance Paddling’s Junior SUP Fiesta is only two days away, with dozens of stoked grommies currently making their way to Southern California for a day of SUP racing, SUP surfing and all around SUP stoke.

The Junior SUP Fiesta is the work of Anthony Vela and Candice Appleby, as well as a bunch of high-profile SUP volunteers, all with the aim of giving kids exposure to competitive paddling in a fun way. Kids from as far away as Idaho and Australia will be competing for the grom-sized bragging rights as well as $5,000 in prize money.

The action will go down at Bolsa Chica Beach, which is right next to the famous Huntington Beach in Southern California. So keep your eye out for the live HD Webcast that SUPConnect.com is putting together; The SUP racing will hit the water just after 8am Sunday (May 5th) California time, then after that it’s the SUP surfing contest.

Should be a lot of fun, and let’s face it, the kids always get a louder cheers than us old hacks at the races anyway. So watch the live webcast on Sunday or check back in on Monday for plenty of photos of the action.

In the meantime there’s plenty more info about the 2013 Junior Pro & Youth SUP Fiesta over on the official site.
