WATCH: The World’s Straightest (And Perhaps Most Unique) SUP Race Course


Here’s a very cool vid from the recent Stand Up Paddle race on the Corinth Canal in Greece, where Eric Terrien defeated Casper Steinfath in the battle between Europe’s two fastest men. The “Hellenic SUP Cup: Isthmus Speed Crossing” (as the event was offcially known) was essentially a drag-race, as the course stretched out in a 6km straight line along the historic Corinth Canal.

The famous Canal, which was completed in 1893 and is now a popular tourist boat ride (it’s far too narrow for modern shipping vessels), was closed down for two hours to let the 129 competitors paddle what looks to be one of the most amazing SUP race courses in the world…
