NZ Training Camp with Molokai Champ Travis Grant

Nice little drone clip out of New Zealand, where reigning Molokai/Carolina champion Travis Grant has been residing/teaching for the past week.

Trav was down in NZ for an NSP training camp, though the current world number two also jumped in to the local Beach Race Series, where he held off a bunch of very talented locals to take the win. Marcus Hansen and rising junior star Ollie Houghton (one of the heroes of Team NZ’s performance at the Worlds last year) gave him the closest checking.

(Another big name from NSP will be racing in New Zealand next week, with Titouan Puyo taking part in the NZ Nationals on the 27th.)

Although Trav hails from across the narrow Tasman Sea, he actually flew all the way down from Hawaii, where he’s now permanently based on Oahu. Speaking of Trav and Hawaii, keep an eye out for a guest post from the man himself later this week, where the Aussie champs will give us his interesting take on the future of unlimited race boards.

Side note: You’ll actually be able to get your hands on one of Trav’s Molokai-winning boards this year, with the 17’10 blue and green machines set to go into production shortly (full details).
