EuroTour Goes XL Fun with Red Paddle Co’s Big Inflatables

Highlighting that the EuroTour isn’t just about serious, elite racing, it’s also about having a damn good time, Red Paddle Co. has signed on as the official inflatables partner, with the British brand set to feature their boards in a series of fun races at every stop.

In addition to the main events, each leg on the 14-week Tour will feature Red Paddle Co races on both the 10’6 whipper snapper boards and those big, beautiful, 17ft “XL Ride” behemoths.

The 10’6 boards will be used in knockout sprint races for the juniors, however the event I’m really looking forward to is the “XL Race For Glory,” which sees teams of five per board compete head-to-head on the 17 footers in a knockout style tournament.

Check out the news on the official EuroTour site for more info.

Here’s a shot from the Week 1 of the EuroTour in Portugal. Yep, we’re gonna have some fun with these things over the next few weeks.

Red Paddle Co doesn’t just make fun boards though, they make some seriously good inflatables. While many brands are pushing inflatable technology forward, Red seems to be at the forefront with their new MSL inflatable stand up paddle board technology.

The Euro Tour kicked off in Portugal last weekend and extends across the continent over the next 13 weeks, with the picturesque Port Adriano SUP Race on the Mediterranean island of Majorca this weekend.

Following that we’ll see the EuroTour’s three-week run of “Headline Events” in France (SUP Race Cup), Germany (Lost Mills) and the Basque Country of Spain (Bilbao Paddle Challenge), which look set to attract a fairly stellar international cast.

Connor Baxter and Sonni Honscheid are the defending champs, with both returning to Europe (well, Sonni actually lives here) to defend their crowns. But the more important question is: Who will win the battle of the big SUPs?
