Happy Birthday is one year old this week.

Eighteen months ago I had the idea to collect all of the SUP racing results from around the world and put them in one place. Fifteen months ago I started work on what is now and twelve months ago I wrote the first post here on this site.

We’ve seen a lot in those short twelve months (this is the 448th blog post…) and I’m stoked with how fast has grown: From literally nothing twelve months ago we now get over 50,000 views per month from visitors in over 140 different countries (yes, apparently there’s even one dude in Tanzania that’s interested in SUP racing).

We’ve listed over 500 different Stand Up Paddle races, posted full race results from 132 different events and travelled round the world to race in heaps of countries and meet countless stand up paddle paddling fans. It’s been a good year.

But where to from here? As proud as I am of what has become, this is only the beginning: Twelve months from now will be almost unrecognisable – that’s how many new races, new results, new guest contributors and new features we’re going to be adding over the coming months.

(There’s one new feature in particular that I can’t wait to share with you. It should be ready in just a couple of weeks and I believe it’s going to change the way you look at SUP racing forever…) always has been (and always will be) about promoting and growing the sport of SUP racing. I’m super excited about what’s in store for 2013 and I hope you can join us for the ride.
