And now for something completely different: GPS paddle art with ultra pioneer Thomas Schillig
If you want a slightly different story to start your paddling week, go read this great story by Chris Diver on TotalSUP about Thomas Schillig’s GPS paddle art in Switzerland.
Schillig, or “Chilli” as he’s affectionately known, has brought the growing trend of GPS art from the world of cycling and running into the paddling sphere.
It’s the weirdest and most wonderful thing I’ve come across in a while.
Chilli is actually something of a pioneer in the world of ultra-marathon paddling. The Swiss paddler designed his own custom, funky-looking inflatable for the infamous Yukon River Quest and successfully completed the 715km course with it.
