The 2012 San Clemente Ocean Festival is happening this weekend and features one of the coolest races of the year, the Surf Race to Victory SUP Cross Series.

The Surf Race to Victory was first held last September, the day after Hennessey’s and the week before the BoP. This year it’s turned into a full on Series, with events in Carlsbad, San Clemente, Utah and then the final @ Huntington Beach in September.

Apart from the carnage and chaos of the SUPCross racing format, there’ll also $2,500 will be on offer. So expect plenty of California’s finest SUP racers to be out there on the weekend.

Saturday’s Surf Race to Victory SUP Cross is the highlight of the San Clemente Ocean Fest (as far as Stand Up Paddling goes) but there’ll also be a fun 3 mile race on Sunday plus a whole bunch of other paddle races.
