In brief: Several of Australia’s top paddlers have enjoyed a solid pre-season hit out at the Sydney SUP Festival this weekend, with Jake Jensen, Paul Jackson, Kelly Margetts and Angie Jackson taking victories in three different events.

Jacko took out the opening, 8km race on Saturday afternoon ahead of his one team mate Jake and newly-minted Sunova team rider Kelly, while Jacko’s wife Angie was far too strong in the women’s.

Jake got one back on his team boss Saturday afternoon, claiming the $1,000 dash for cash ahead of Margetts. Kelly would have the last laugh though, winning Sunday’s middle distance event after a frantic sprint to the line (pictured above).

Sounds like it was a great weekend in Sydney, with scores of weekend warriors joining the pros for racing and clinics in a bit of a dream location.
