Surfing Legends Reading The Bible Of SUP
For the past few months we’ve been lucky to have Steve West as a guest columnist, with the SUP expert delivering weekly insights from his awesome new book Stand Up Paddle: A Paddler’s Guide. If you read our review you’ll know we loved this thing: It’s full of excellent insights, history, techniques and tips for anyone that’s serious about Stand Up Paddling.
And it seems we’re not alone… Last week former ASP world #2 Luke Egan posted a shot of the book on Instagram, accompanied by some serious praise.
Luke has been into SUP surfing for years (very recently signing with Fanatic) and is now getting into the racing side of the sport as well. He’s been training on the Gold Coast with Paul Jackson’s elite squad for the past year or so, and I was lucky enough to paddle alongside one of my childhood surfing heroes for a couple of months at the start of the year.
Though Luke Egan isn’t the only surfing legend/childhood hero of mine who’s keen to get insights from Steve West, with 2x World Champ and serious Stand Up Paddler Tom Carroll also chiming in on Instagram:
“Yeah Luke I am with you! I am hunting down the Steve West publication ASAP”
So if you want to see what all the fuss is about, just read our review of Steve West’s SUP book then go and pick up your own copy. I’m sure you’ll love it as much as Luke Egan and Tom Carroll do.
