In brief: UK dark horse Blue Ewer has shocked two of the strongest paddlers of all-time in Michael Booth and Connor Baxter to win the latest round of the Euro Tour in Bordeaux. Rolling the dice and making the most of the tricky river currents that Bordeaux’s wide-open river is famous for, Blue came from behind to win after he crossed over to the other bank on the final lap and found faster water. He was followed by Brazil’s Eri Tenorio and Kiwi Ollie Houghton as the gamblers swept the podium ahead of Australia’s powerhouse and the GOAT himself.
